Quolls are small, spotted animals. They are marsupials, which means they carry their young in a pouch.

There are six different species of quoll. They live in Australia and New Guinea. Most quolls are nocturnal. This means they sleep in dens during the day and hunt at night.

Quolls are carnivores, so they eat meat. Small quolls eat bugs, frogs, and lizards. Large quolls eat bigger animals like possums. They hunt by stalking their prey. They use their front paws to pin animals down.

Female quolls have a special way of raising babies. A mother can give birth to up to 30 pups. These pups are tiny, like a grain of rice. They stay in the mother's pouch to drink milk. The number of babies that grow up is limited by how many teats the mother has.

Many quolls face big threats today. Poisonous cane toads and wild cats can hurt them. Some quolls are also losing their homes. People are working hard to help them through breeding programs.
