They live in many villages. Most are in New Mexico. Some are in Arizona and Texas.

Pueblo people have lived there for thousands of years. They come from the Ancestral Pueblo people. Long ago, these ancestors built homes in cliffs.

These homes were made of stone and mud. Some villages were very big. One place, Pueblo Bonito, had 700 rooms! It had five floors.

Pueblo people are very good at farming. They grow corn, beans, and squash.

Some groups use water from rivers to grow food. Other groups farm in dry areas.

Pueblo people speak many different languages. These languages are not the same. They also have different ways of living. Some groups follow the mother's family line. Other groups follow the father's family line. Even with these changes, they keep their traditions strong. They work hard to protect their culture and beliefs.
