Pinus halepensis

life science Maturity 9-11 Next article →

The Aleppo pine is a tall tree. It lives in warm lands near the sea.

Its bark is orange-red and thick. The leaves are long and thin. They look yellowish green.

The tree has small cones. These cones turn red-brown as they grow. Heat from a fire helps the cones open. This lets the seeds fly away in the wind.

People use the seeds to make sweet food. It is a very special tree.
