Ambulance workers, EMS,

They often work in ambulances. Their main job is to help people with life-threatening injuries. They stabilize these patients. Then, they take them to a hospital.

Paramedics work in many places. They might help at a home or on a road. Some work in planes or even in the wild. In some countries, they make their own choices about care. In other places, doctors lead the way.

This job can be hard on the body. Paramedics often lift heavy gear or patients. This can cause back or neck pain. They also face risks from germs and chemicals. To stay safe, they use PPE. This stands for personal protective equipment.

PPE includes things like gloves, masks, and gowns.

Paramedics also face mental stress. They see many accidents and scary events. This can lead to feelings like anxiety or burnout. To help, they use support systems. Talking to peers can help them manage these feelings.
