earth science Maturity 7-9 Next article →

The Pantanal is a huge, wet land.

Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brasil
Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brasil

It is the largest flooded grassland in the world. Most of it is in Brazil.

Rain makes the land very wet. Much of the land stays under water. This helps many plants and animals grow.

Many animals live here. You can see many birds and fish. There are also many big cats called jaguars.

Small snails help the land too. They live in the water. They help turn dead plants into food for others.

It is a very special place to see.
