Palladio loved old Greek and Roman buildings. He used math to make his designs look grand. He used math to find the right size for rooms. This made the whole house look complete.

Many Palladian houses have a special window. This is called a Venetian window. It has one tall, arched part in the middle. It also has two smaller rectangular parts on the sides.

Palladio also used a portico. This is a porch with columns. He often put them on all sides of a house. This let people see the views outside.

His ideas spread far across the world. In England, people built many grand homes in this style. In America, Thomas Jefferson used these ideas. He built his home, Monticello, using Palladian ways.
