Programmers write code to tell computers what to do. Sometimes, they use a method called obfuscation. This means they make the code very hard to read. They do this on purpose. They might use strange names for parts of the code. They can also change how the code looks. It might even look like a poem.

People use obfuscation for many reasons. Some want to stop others from changing their work. Others use it as a fun puzzle. There are even contests for the best code puzzles. However, bad people use it too. They use it to hide harmful code. This helps them hide from antivirus software. One way they do this is with Base64 encoding. This turns code into plain text so it looks safe. Another way is called XOR obfuscation. This makes the code look like random data. This can hide the code from safety tools.

Obfuscation can cause some problems. It makes it hard to fix mistakes in the code. It can also make a computer run slower. Some web browsers do not allow hidden code in their stores. This helps keep users safe from bad programs.
