Neustria

history Maturity 7-9 Next article →

Long ago, there was a land called Neustria. It was in a part of France. The name means "new western land."

Many kings ruled this land. They fought with neighbors in the east. Sometimes the lands joined together. Other times they split apart.

Later, the land became much smaller. It sat between two big rivers. Kings used it to guard the land.

They had to watch for people from the sea. These people were called Vikings. It was a busy time for the land.

New leaders soon took over. They changed how the land was run. The name Neustria is now old history.
