The island has a very high peak called Mt. Zas. This mountain traps clouds to bring rain. This makes Naxos a great place for farms. People grow fruit and vegetables there. They also raise cattle. Naxos is famous for its marble.

People have cut marble here for a long time. Ancient builders used it for roofs in famous places. The island also has emery. This is a hard rock used for cleaning. Many people visit Naxos for its beaches. It is a windy place, too. This makes it great for windsurfing.

You can also find very old items in caves. These include jewelry and tools from long ago.
