Musa was a clever leader. He did not use force to change the Berber people. Instead, he used talk and respect. This helped many Berbers join his army. One leader in his army was Tariq bin Ziyad.

Musa also built a navy. His ships reached many islands. Later, Musa led a big group to Iberia.

He worked with Tariq to win many battles. They moved through many towns and cities. Musa took the city of Seville after a long siege. He also took the city of Mérida.

Musa and Tariq became very popular. They brought many riches back home to Damascus. But things changed for Musa later. A new leader took his rank and his wealth. Musa died while on a holy trip called the Hajj.
