Muhammad bin Tughluq was a Sultan in Delhi. He ruled from 1325 to 1351.

He was very smart. He knew many languages like Persian and Arabic. He also studied medicine.

Muhammad had many big ideas. In 1327, he moved his capital city. He moved it from Delhi to Daulatabad. He wanted to protect his land from invaders. He built a wide road for the move. He even planted shady trees along it. But many people died on the trip. They did not have enough food or water.

In 1330, he tried a new way to use money. He made coins from brass and copper. He wanted them to be worth as much as silver.

This plan failed. People made fake coins at home. The new coins became worth almost nothing.
