Morya loved to worship Ganesha. He used to visit a temple in Morgaon. One legend says he had trouble at that temple. Ganesha told Morya he would stay in Chinchwad instead. Morya moved to Chinchwad and built a new temple there. He even found a stone image in a river.

Morya had a son named Chintamani. People believed Chintamani was a living part of Ganesha. This started a family of leaders called the Devs. The Dev family lasted for seven generations. One Dev even received gifts from a ruler named Aurangzeb.

Morya lived a long time ago. Experts think he lived between the 13th and 17th centuries. After his life, Morya took sanjeevan samadhi. This means he entered a tomb to stay in prayer. His tomb and temple are still in Chinchwad. Many people visit these holy places today.
