Many stories say she led a group of female spies. These spies were called kunoichi. Some say she worked for the Takeda clan. A writer named Shisei Inagaki wrote about her in 1971. He said she had a village of miko. Miko are shrine maidens. He claimed they became spies.

But many experts think she was not real. A teacher named Katsuya Yoshimaru studies history. He says there is no proof she lived. He says the old papers about her are not real. He also says the stories about the miko are just guesses.

Even if she was not real, she is very famous now. Many video games use her name. She is in games like Samurai Warriors and Pokémon Conquest. She is also in books and movies. These stories make her life feel very exciting to many people.
