Mikhail Budyko was a man who studied our world. He looked at how the Earth stays warm. He found that the sun sends heat to us. Then, the Earth sends heat back to space. This keeps the heat in balance.

He used math to study the air. He found that more gas in the air can change things. This gas can make the ice melt. He thought the ice might melt away soon.

He even had an idea to help. He thought we could use a special blanket to cool the Earth. People call this idea Budyko's Blanket. He worked hard to help us understand our home.
