Mikaël Kingsbury is a famous freestyle skier from Canada. He is known for his skill in a sport called moguls. In moguls, skiers race down a snowy slope filled with bumps.

Kingsbury has become one of the most successful athletes in this sport. He has won 100 career World Cup moguls wins. He also holds the record for 13 consecutive Freestyle World Cup event wins. People admire him because he is very consistent. He has won a medal in 15 of the 16 events he has competed in at the Freestyle World Championships.

To be a great mogul skier, you must be very fast and steady. Kingsbury competes in two main types of events. The first is moguls, where skiers go down the bumps alone. The second is dual moguls, where two skiers race against each other at the same time.

In dual moguls, skiers try to beat their opponent by scoring higher points. Kingsbury has been the first man to win both types of events at the World Championships. He even achieved a "sweep" by winning both events three different times. This takes incredible skill and focus.

Kingsbury's journey to the top started when he was very young. He began competing in the Nor-Am Cup before moving to the World Cup circuit. In 2010, he was named the FIS World Cup Rookie of the Year.

At just 18 years old, he became the first person that age to win a FIS Freestyle World Cup event. He often looked up to older skiers like Alexandre Bilodeau. Later, he even moved past his childhood role model, Jean-Luc Brassard, to hold the record for most World Cup wins by a Canadian. He worked very hard to turn his dreams into real titles.

His career is full of many big prizes and records. He has won 13 FIS World Cup titles for moguls. He also won nine titles for overall freestyle skiing. These titles are awarded with a prize called a Crystal Globe.

Kingsbury has also been very successful at the Olympic Games. He won a gold medal in 2018 and another gold in 2026. He also earned silver medals in 2014 and 2022. In 2018, he was named Canada's top athlete of the year. He received the Lou Marsh Trophy and the Lionel Conacher Award.

Even when things are hard, Kingsbury keeps going. He once had to miss several races after fracturing his vertebrae in his back.

Even after that injury, he returned to win both of his final World Cup races that season. He is a leader who represents his country with pride. At the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, he was a flag bearer for Canada. This is a very special job given to leaders during the opening ceremony. His story shows how hard work and staying strong can lead to great things.
