He wrote it while he was in prison. He was in jail after a failed plan to take power in Munich.

The book has two parts. It tells the story of his life and his political ideas. Hitler shared his plans for Germany and the world. He had very hateful ideas about many groups of people. He believed that Jewish people were a threat to Germany. He also thought that some people were better than others. He wrote that Germany needed more space to grow. He wanted to take land in the East to give to German people.

At first, the book did not sell many copies. But it became a bestseller after Hitler gained power in 1933. The government gave the book to new married couples and soldiers. By 1939, it had sold over five million copies. These ideas led to much harm and unfair treatment of people. Today, the book is studied by experts to help us understand history.
