Megacerops was a type of brontothere. These were large animals that looked like rhinoceroses. However, they were actually closer to elephants in size. Some were over four meters tall at the shoulder. They could weigh up to five tonnes. They were the biggest animals in their world. No predators could hunt them because they were too big.

The most famous part of the Megacerops was its horns. These horns were like the ossicones on a giraffe. An ossicones is a bony horn on a head. Scientists think they used these horns to fight each other.
