Meals are bigger than snacks. They are more varied and filling. Most people eat three main meals each day. These are in the morning, at noon, and in the evening.

Breakfast is the first meal of the day. The name means to break the fast from the night before. In the UK, some people eat a "full breakfast." This might include eggs, bacon, and sausages. Others eat a light "Continental breakfast." This often has bread, fruit, or pastries.

Lunch is a meal eaten at midday. Many people eat a "packed lunch." This is food made at home. It is carried in a lunch box or a bag. In Mumbai, India, workers use "tiffin boxes" for lunch.

Dinner is often a very important meal. It can be a large meal at noon or in the evening. Some people eat a "full-course dinner." This has many parts, like an appetizer or a main course. Many people enjoy eating meals together. It is a time to share food and talk.
