One of his most famous works is Swan Lake. In his version, the swans are all men. They wear silk clothes that look like feathers. This was very different from the classic ballet. His work won many big awards.

Bourne also made a dance about Cinderella. He set this story in London during a war. To get the details right, he studied books from that time. He also made a dance based on the movie Edward Scissorhands. In that show, the main character's dance moves change as the story goes on.

He does not work alone. Bourne works with a team to make his shows. He often asks his dancers to help make the dance steps. This way of working is called collaboration. His company is called New Adventures. They perform many types of dance, like ballet and musical theatre.
