The land in Malabon is very flat and low. This means the city often deals with floods from heavy rain or high tides.

The Tullahan River flows through the area and connects the nearby cities. In the past, the river was wide and deep with clean water. People used the river to fish and grow crops like rice and vegetables. Today, many of those green areas have changed into industrial yards. These yards are now home to many factories and people living in makeshift houses.

Malabon has a very long history that goes back many years. It was founded on May 21, 1599, by Augustinian missionaries.

Back then, it was a small place called Tambobong. In the late 1800s, Malabon became a center for business. Large companies started making tobacco and sugar there. The city also had a famous steam tram line. This was one of the first steam rail services in Southeast Asia. It even opened before the main railway lines in the Philippines.

Today, the city is a major place for making things.
