Rome also fought four wars with Macedonia. At first, Rome did not want to rule. They mostly wanted to help their allies. They wanted to stop big kingdoms from taking over. But the wars changed things. Rome fought at the Battle of Cynoscephalae. They also won at the Battle of Magnesia. These wins made Rome very powerful. In the end, Rome took control of Greece. The old empires became much weaker. This helped Rome grow into a large empire. The Greek lands became part of the Roman world. This was a major change for many people.
