It sits in the Sha Tin District. It is between Kowloon Tong and Tai Wai. The mountain is made of old granite. This rock is about 140 million years old.

The mountain has a special shape. It looks like a lion is crouching down. You can see this best from East Kowloon. A trail winds up the green hillside. It leads to the top of the "lion's head."

Many animals live near the mountain. Longtailed macaques live in the trees. These monkeys might try to take your food. You might also see snakes in the bushes at night.

Hiking here can be hard. The paths are rocky and steep. Some parts have no fences. The government says these are high risk areas. Please stay on the trails. Do not take shortcuts near the cliffs. Always carry water and a bright light.
