Leinster has twelve counties. These are Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Long - no, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow. It has more counties than any other province. But it is the second smallest by land area. Many people live here. In 2022, there were 2,858,501 people. This makes it the most populous province in the country.

Dublin is the only official city. It is the largest place to live. Other large towns include Dundalk and Drogheda. People mostly speak English. Some people also speak Irish. There is a small area called Ráth Chairn where people speak Irish at home.

Many sports happen here. Teams for rugby, cricket, and hockey use the name Leinster. There is also a flag for the province. It shows a gold harp on a green background.
