Bryant's journey toward greatness began with intense study and practice. As a child living in Italy, he watched videos of NBA games to learn techniques. He even worked as a ball boy at his father's professional games. During halftime, he would use the court to practice his shooting.

This early dedication helped him become a dominant force. By the time he reached high school, he was already a highly recognized player. He eventually moved directly to the NBA, becoming only the sixth player in league history to do so.

His professional career was defined by several distinct eras and roles. In his early years, he played alongside center Shaquille O'Neal. Together, they led the Lakers to three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002.

After O'Neal was traded, Bryant became the cornerstone of the franchise. He led the league in scoring during the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons. One notable feat occurred on January 22, 2006, when he scored 81 points in a single game. This remains the third-highest scoring performance in NBA history.

Bryant's life began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 23, 1978. His father, Joe Bryant, was also an NBA player. When Kobe was six, the family moved to Italy to follow his father's career. They lived in several cities, including Rieti and Reggio Emilia. During this time, Kobe became fluent in Italian.
