This pact was named after two men. One was Frank B. Kellogg from the United States. The other was Aristide Briand from France. The deal said countries should not use war to solve fights.

Many nations signed it soon after. It was a big dream for peace.

Some people thought the pact was not strong. It did not have a way to force countries to follow the rules. Because of this, it did not stop World War II. Some people even joked about it.

But the pact did change the world in other ways. It helped create new laws. These laws said that starting a war is a crime. After World War II, leaders were tried for these crimes. The pact also helped lead to the United Nations. Today, wars between many countries are much rarer than before. The pact was a first step toward a more peaceful world.
