The Kama Sutra is a famous ancient book from India.

It was written in a language called Sanskrit. Many people think Vatsyayana wrote it. He said he wrote it after much meditation. The book is more than just a guide for sex. It is a guide on how to live well. It teaches about love and finding a partner. It also talks about how to be social and polite.

In the Hindu tradition, there are four main goals for life. These are called the Purusharthas. One goal is Kama. Kama means desire, love, and the joy of the senses. This goal works with three other goals. These are Dharma, which is doing what is right. Artha is having the things you need to live. Moksha is finding spiritual freedom.
