It is a way for people to share art and energy with the whole world.

Watching a K-pop performance is a big experience for the eyes.

Artists use sharp dance routines and fashionable outfits. They often use something called formation changing. This means the dancers switch their positions while they sing. They also use point choreography. These are catchy, repetitive dance moves that match the lyrics. This makes the dance easy for fans to remember and follow. The music and the dance work together to tell a story.

K-pop began to change in South Korea during the 1990s.

A group called Seo Taiji and Boys helped start this new sound. They mixed hip-hop, techno, and rock together. This helped modernize the music scene in the early 1990s. Later, a man named Lee Soo-man helped create the idol system. He started groups like H.O.T. and S.E.S. in the late 1990s. These were the first generation of K-pop idols. This history helped build the music industry we see today.

Becoming a K-pop star takes a lot of hard work.

Many artists start as idol trainees through auditions. They live together in a very regulated environment. Trainees spend many hours every day learning to sing and dance. They also study foreign languages like English or Japanese. This helps them talk to fans in many different countries. Some agencies spend a lot of money to train them. For example, one report said training cost can be very high. This training helps them prepare for their big debut.

Today, K-pop is a global phenomenon that connects many cultures.

This helps their music reach a wider audience. Famous groups like BTS and Blackpink have huge fans everywhere. In 2020, the K-pop market grew by 44.8 percent. It is now one of the fastest-growing music markets in the world. K-pop brings people from different places together through music.
