Making the dinosaurs look real was a huge job. The creators used two different ways to build them. One way was using computer-generated imagery from a group called Industrial Light & Magic. This was very new and groundbreaking at the time.

The other way was building life-sized models that could move. A team led by Stan Winston built these amazing machines. These models are called animatronics. They helped the dinosaurs look like they were truly there. The sound design was also special. It used many different animal noises to create dinosaur sounds.

Creating the film took a lot of planning and work. Before the movie was made, there was a bidding war for the book rights.

Universal Pictures won the rights for $1.5 million. Michael Crichton was paid $500,000 to help change the book into a script. David Koepp wrote the final version of the story. Filming happened in California and Hawaii between August and November 1992. Spielberg even worked on other films while the movie was being finished. This shows how much effort went into every single scene.

Jurassic Park was a massive success all over the world.

It earned over $914 million during its first time in theaters. It was the highest-grossing film ever until Titanic came out in 1997. The movie also won 20 different awards. This included three Academy Awards for its amazing sound and visual effects. In 2013, it became the first film to ever pass $1 billion in total ticket sales. It is a very important part of movie history. The Library of Congress even chose it to be preserved forever.

This movie changed how we watch films today. Its use of computers helped create the special effects we see in modern movies.

Because people loved it so much, it started a huge franchise. Now, there are six sequels and many video games. You can even visit the dinosaurs at theme park attractions. The movie connects science with the magic of storytelling. It makes us imagine what it would be like to see a dinosaur in person. It remains a favorite for many people of all ages.
