Kony said he spoke to spirits. He wanted to make a country based on Christian rules. His group fought the government for many years. This caused much harm to many people. The LRA took children away from their homes. They made these children join their army. Many people had to flee their villages to stay safe.

Because of these actions, Kony became a wanted man. In 2005, a court called the ICC charged him with crimes. They said he did many bad things during the war.

The United States and Uganda worked to find him. They sent help to the Ugandan army. Over time, the LRA grew much smaller. It once had 3,000 soldiers. Now, it has only about 100. Kony is still hiding. People believe he may be in Darfur. The LRA does not fight in Uganda anymore.
