The second part is the upper cave. It was found later in 1958. This part is dry. It has many stone shapes. These shapes are called stalactites and stalagmites. The upper cave has the largest stalactite in the world. People can walk through it on safe paths.

These caves formed over millions of years. They are made of limestone rock. Rain water with a special acid flows into cracks in the rock. This water dissolves the stone. As the stone melts away, it makes big spaces. This way of making caves is called karstification.
