It is in the Cévennes National Park. The cave starts as a narrow pit. Then it opens into a very big room. This room is called the Grand Salle. It is a great hall.

The floor is covered in many stone shapes. These shapes are called speleothems. Water drips through the stone for thousands of years. This slow dripping makes the shapes. They come in many sizes and shapes. Some are very fragile. One stalagmite is the tallest known. It is 30 meters high.

Two men explored the cave in 1897. Their names were Louis Armand and Édouard-Alfred Martel. People can visit the cave now. A tunnel and paths were made for them. This lets people see the Grand Salle easily. It has been open since 1927. A singer named Nolwenn Leroy filmed a video there in 2017. She used the cave for her song "Gemme."
