P.T. Barnum was the face of the show. But Bailey was the hard worker behind the scenes. He was a genius at logistics. This means he was great at planning. He moved many people, animals, and tools. He even helped get an elephant named Jumbo. Bailey was very kind to children. He made an "Orphan Day." On this day, orphans could see the circus for free. He would carry small children to their seats. This helped them avoid the big crowds. He died in 1906. Many people in the circus world missed him. He is in the Circus Hall of Fame.
