Frank Lentini was a famous performer.

He was born in Sicily in 1889. Frank was the fifth of 12 children. He was born with a parasitic twin. This means a twin was attached to his body. This twin was at the base of his spine. It had a pelvic bone and a third leg. This extra leg had a small foot on it. Because of this, Frank had three legs and four feet.

Frank moved to the United States when he was eight. He joined many big circuses. He worked with the Ringling Brothers Circus. He also worked with Barnum and Bailey. People called him "The King" because they respected him. He was a very good showman. In his youth, he used his third leg to kick a ball. This earned him the name "The Three-Legged Football Player."

Frank lived a long life. He married Theresa Murray in 1907. They had four children together. Frank died in 1966 at age 77. His life was shown in a film called "The Greatest Showman."
