Islamic socialism is a way of thinking. It mixes Islam with socialism. People who follow this idea believe the two go well together. They use teachings from the Qur'an to support fairness.

Some early leaders showed these ideas. Abu Bakr was a first leader in Islam. He gave a small amount of money to every person. This helped them meet their needs. Another man named Abu Dharr spoke out against greed. He wanted wealth to be shared fairly.

In the 1800s, a thinker named Jamal al-Din al-Afghani wrote about this. He said sharing was a duty in Islam. Later, many groups used these ideas. In Russia, the Wäisi movement helped farmers. In India, Ubaidullah Sindhi studied how to share wealth. In Pakistan, leaders like Muhammad Ali Jinnah spoke about social justice. They wanted equality for all people. In Iran, Ali Shariati used these ideas to fight for workers. These thinkers all wanted to make the world more fair through faith and sharing.
