He studies the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. He writes books about this history. One book is called "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine." In it, he says that many Palestinians were forced to leave their homes in 1948. He calls this a planned campaign.

He worked as a teacher at the University of Haifa. He also studied at the University of Oxford in England. Later, he moved to the University of Exeter. He left Israel because of his views. He said it was hard to live there. He also faced threats from some people.

Some scholars think his work is very brave. They say his books are well-written. Other scholars do not agree with him. One scholar named Benny Morris said his work has many errors. Pappé wants one democratic state for all people. He hopes this can lead to peace for everyone.
