The web uses special rules to work. These rules are called HTTP.

HTTP helps computers talk to each other. It works like a conversation between two parts. One part is the client. Your web browser is a client. The other part is the server. A web server holds websites.

A transaction is a set of steps to share data. First, the client sends a request. This is like asking a question. Then, the server sends a response. This is like giving an answer. The response might include a website page. You can find these pages using a URL. A URL is a web address.

HTTP has changed over time to get faster. Old versions made a new connection for every single request. New versions can reuse one connection for many things. This saves time and power. Some versions use a tool called a cache. A cache stores parts of a page. This helps the web load much faster. Most websites now use secure versions of these rules. This keeps your data safe while it moves.
