Kramer wrote a book called the Malleus Maleficarum. This name means "The Hammer of Witches." His book was published in 1487. It spoke about witchcraft. It also gave ways to find and punish people accused of magic. This book helped start many witch trials.

Not everyone liked his work. In the city of Innsbruck, a bishop named Georg Golser did not like Kramer. The bishop told Kramer to leave the area. Kramer went back to Cologne. There, he wrote more books.
