He helped spread a style called the feuilleton. This was a type of writing found in newspapers. In France, journalists used this style to hide their political ideas. They wrote about art to avoid being punished by leaders. This allowed them to still share their true views. Heine helped this style spread across Europe. Today, we can see this in the art and culture sections of newspapers.

Heine was born on December 13, 1797, in Düsseldorf.

He was born into a Jewish family. His mother was named Peira, but people called her "Betty." His father was a textile merchant. As a young boy, his name was Harry. He changed his name to Heinrich after he became a Lutheran in 1825. He was the oldest of four children in his family. His brother, Gustav, later became a newspaper publisher.

Heine lived through many big changes in history.

He grew up while France and Germany were often at war. He lived in a place called the Duchy of Berg. This area was under French rule for a long time. Heine admired the French ideas of liberty and equality. Because of his strong political views, German leaders banned his books. This did not stop him from being famous. Instead, he moved to Paris and lived there for 25 years.

Many people see his words as a way to understand history. His life shows how writing can change the world. Even though he faced many hard times, his words stayed strong.
