headLand is an Australian drama television series. It tells many stories set at a university.

The show focuses on the lives and secrets of its characters. One big mystery involves a car crash that kills four people. This crash leaves a man named Craig Palmer in a coma. He also suffers from amnesia, which means he cannot remember things. Craig tries to solve the mystery of what happened that night. He learns about his girlfriend, Angela, and his best friend, John.

There are many other stories within the show. One storyline follows Adam Wilde and his search for his father. Adam is unsure if his father is Ben Wilde or a man named Mick. A DNA test eventually proves that Ben is his biological father. Another character, Detective Sam Wiley, becomes part of a big investigation. Sam meets Craig during his detective work at a party. These complicated relationships make the show very dramatic for viewers.

Making the show was a long and changing process. In 2002, a writer named Bevan Lee wanted to make a spin-off. He first called the idea Away From Home. It was meant to feature characters from the show Home and Away. The idea changed many times before it was finished. It was called Campus and then Ten Degrees South. Finally, the creators chose the name headLand in early 2005.

Filming took place in several real Australian locations. The creators filmed outside scenes in Austinmer, New South Wales. They used the University of Wollongong for the university scenes. A disused hospital in Rozelle also helped tell the story. Studio scenes were filmed at White Bay Studios in Sydney. This was the first Seven Network Sydney drama not filmed at the ATN-7 studios.

The series first premiered on 15 November 2005. The Seven Network aired 52 episodes in the first series. The show was also seen in the United Kingdom on E4. In the UK, the episodes were much shorter at thirty minutes. The show faced many changes in its schedule. It moved to different times to try and find more viewers. The series ended in January 2006 with some stories left unfinished. You can still watch the series on 7plus today.
