He was born in Russia in 1912. He moved to the United States when he was twelve. George was very good with wood. He first made toys and furniture. He even made a fake finger out of plastic! This helped him after a tool hurt his hand.

George loved playing pool. In 1959, he bought a pool hall. He began making cues as gifts for his friends. Soon, many people wanted to buy them. He made about 1,200 cues by hand. He worked in his garage to make them.

His cues were not too fancy. They were made to play well. He used maple wood for the front part. He used Irish linen for the wrap. This is the part you hold. He also made special rings called Bushka rings. These rings used ebony and ivory.

Collectors love his work today. Some cues sell for many thousands of dollars. He was the first person in his Hall of Fame. He was a true master of his craft.
