These rooms are filled with handcrafted items from places like Oaxaca and Metepec. Large earthenware pots and traditional cookware are on display for everyone to see.

This house has a long and interesting history. It was first built in 1904 in the Coyoacán neighborhood. At first, the outside of the house had French-style decorations. Later, the look was changed to a simpler style. Frida Kahlo was born here in 1907 to her parents. She lived here even after she was hurt in a trolley accident. That accident made her start painting to pass the time while she rested.

After many years, Diego Rivera donated the house in 1957. He wanted to turn it into a museum to honor Frida.

The museum holds many amazing treasures from the past. There are about 2,000 votive paintings from different time periods. You can also find pre-Hispanic artifacts and Mexican folk art. Some rooms have large papier-mâché Judas figures. These figures are traditionally filled with firecrackers for celebrations.

Visiting the Blue House is like stepping back into another time. It shows the lifestyle of artists and thinkers in Mexico. About 25,000 people visit the museum every single month. It is the most-visited site in the whole Coyoacán area.
