Fredric Jameson was a famous American thinker. He studied books and big ideas. He was also a teacher. He taught at many schools. These included Harvard and Yale. He spent much of his career at Duke University.

Jameson was known for his work on Marxism. This is a way of thinking about how money and power work. He studied how culture and art fit into this. He believed we must always look at history. He said history helps us understand stories. This idea was in his book, "The Political Unconscious."

He is most famous for his ideas on postmodernism. Postmodernism is a way of looking at our modern world. Jameson thought this was linked to late capitalism. Capitalism is a system based on making money. He said our culture now focuses on style and shows. He used the word "pastiche" to describe this. Pastiche is when art mixes many different styles together. He felt this can make us lose our sense of history. He died in 2024. He left behind many important books and ideas.
