Other meters use moving parts like wheels. A turbine flowmeter has blades in the path of the flow. The fluid hits the blades and makes them spin. The speed of the spin shows the flow rate.
We can measure flow in many ways. We can measure the volume, which is the space it fills. We can also measure the mass, which is how heavy it is. Scientists use different units for these. For example, they might use liters per second.
