He was the founder of a movement called Futurism. This group wanted to change how people made art. Marinetti believed that art should be bold and even harsh. He wanted to move away from old styles. He wanted to celebrate things like speed and new machines. This movement changed how many people thought about creativity in the early 1900s.

Marinetti used many different ways to share his big ideas. He wrote poems, plays, and even stories. He created a style called "words in freedom" to change poetry. This method used sounds to make a point. He even wrote a poem called "Zang Tumb Tumb."

This poem was about a battle. He also worked with painters like Umberto Boccioni. They held shows where they would perform for crowds. Sometimes, people would even throw vegetables at them during these shows.

His journey started in a very interesting way. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1876. His father, Enrico, was a lawyer from Piedmont. His mother, Amalia, was the daughter of a professor. They lived in Egypt to help with new projects there. Marinetti loved reading very early in his life. His mother showed him many famous books. He studied in Egypt and then in Paris. He later graduated with a law degree in 1899.

Marinetti had a very busy and active life. He traveled to many places like London and Libya. He even served as a soldier in the First World War. He was a member of the Lombard Volunteer Cyclists. While serving, he was seriously wounded in May 1917. He later married a writer and painter named Benedetta Cappa.

They had three daughters named Vittoria, Ala, and Luce. He remained a major figure in Italian art and politics for a long time.

Many famous writers were influenced by his work. For example, the writer Ezra Pound reacted strongly to him. This reaction helped lead to new styles like Imagism. Even the famous writer James Joyce was exposed to Futurism. You can see some of these ideas in the book "Ulysses." Marinetti's ideas about machines and speed were very new for his time. He helped people imagine a world filled with modern energy. His work still makes people think about the past and the future.
