Some people believe that fate rules everything. They think all events must happen. This means we cannot change the future. It is like a plan we cannot stop. Many people feel they must just accept what comes.

Different groups have different ideas about this. In ancient India, a group called the Ājīvika followed a rule called Niyati. This means fate. They believed no one has free will.

In many Indian religions, people talk about karma. Karma is a way that actions lead to new things. Your actions can change your next life. Some think karma is a set way things work.

In Buddhism, there is an idea called dependent origination. This says all things are caused by other things. It is like a long chain.

Some thinkers also talk about a god who knows everything. They ask if a person is truly free if a god knows their future. People have written about these deep thoughts in books and art for a long time.
