Exotic star

space Maturity 5-7 Next article →

Scientists think some stars might be very strange. These are called exotic stars. They are not made of normal bits like protons or electrons. Instead, they are made of exotic matter. This matter is very different from what we see every day.

One type is a quark star. This star forms when neutrons break apart. They turn into tiny parts called quarks. These stars are smaller and denser than neutron stars. Some might even be called strange stars if they have strange quark matter.

Another kind is a boson star. These stars are made of particles called bosons. They might be invisible or transparent. Their gravity is so strong it can bend light. This could make them look like a dark shadow.

There are other types too. Preon stars might be made of preons. Preons are tiny building blocks of quarks. These stars would be very heavy. Electroweak stars might use a special kind of power. This power comes from the electroweak force. We have not found these stars yet. They are still just ideas for now.
