These paths help people travel across Europe. Some people use them for long trips. Other local people use them for short rides.

The paths use many different kinds of roads. Some are old national routes. Others are normal roads used by cars. Some are new paths made just for bikes. The routes connect them all together. The idea for this project began in 1995. Since 2007, one group has led the whole project.

Some routes have special names. The EV9 is the Amber Route. It is named after amber, a precious stone. People used to carry amber along this path. The EV13 is the Iron Curtain Trail. The EV15 is the Rhine Cycle Route. These routes help people see many new places.
