Erin Andrews is a prominent American sportscaster and television personality.

She is widely recognized for her work as a sideline reporter. This role involves standing on the field during live games to provide updates. She currently serves as a lead sideline reporter for Fox Sports' NFL broadcasting team. Beyond sports, she has also been a major figure in entertainment television. Her career spans many different types of media, from news to dance competitions.

Andrews' interest in broadcasting began during her childhood. She was born in Lewiston, Maine, in 1978. Her father, Steven Andrews, was a broadcast journalist who won six Emmy Awards. This professional background likely influenced her career path. Growing up, she identified as a tomboy. She spent much of her time watching NBA games, particularly the Boston Celtics, with her father. She was also inspired by successful female sportscasters like Hannah Storm and Lesley Visser. These women served as role models for her future ambitions.

Her professional training and early work provided a foundation for her success. She attended the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications in 2000. During her college years, she was a member of the Florida Gators Dazzlers dance team. Her career started in 2000 as a freelance reporter for Fox Sports Florida. She then worked for the Sunshine Network covering the Tampa Bay Lightning. From 2002 to 2004, she served as a studio host and reporter for Turner South. These roles allowed her to cover various Atlanta sports teams.

In April 2004, Andrews joined the major network ESPN. She worked as a reporter for ESPN National Hockey Night. Her responsibilities expanded to include the College World Series and the Little League World Series. She also provided sideline reporting for Major League Baseball and college football. Between 2008 and 2010, she reported on the Scripps National Spelling Bee. In 2010, she competed on the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars. She and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, placed third out of 11 couples.

In 2012, Andrews transitioned to Fox Sports. She became the first host of their college football studio show. She also contributed to Fox NFL Sunday and reported for major events like the Daytona 500. By the 2014 NFL season, she became a lead reporter for Fox's primary NFL crew. She replaced Pam Oliver in this high-profile position. Andrews also returned to entertainment hosting. She co-hosted Dancing with the Stars from 2014 to 2019. She worked alongside co-host Tom Bergeron for many seasons. Her media presence continues through her podcast, Calm Down, and the show 99 to Beat.

Andrews has used her fame to support many charitable causes. In 2010, she worked with the Kraft Foods Huddle to Fight Hunger campaign. This effort raised $2.86 million for Feeding America. She also helped raise funds for the American Red Cross following tornadoes in Oklahoma. After being diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2016, she became a health advocate. She partnered with Hologic for the "We Can Change This STAT" campaign. This program encourages women to prioritize annual medical exams. She also founded a women-focused sports apparel brand called WEAR in 2019.

Her life has also been marked by significant legal and personal challenges. In 2008, a man named Michael David Barrett filmed her without her knowledge in hotel rooms. This led to a high-profile stalking case and a viral video. In 2016, a jury awarded Andrews $55 million in a lawsuit involving the hotels. The jury found Barrett 51% responsible and the hotel management company 49% responsible. On a personal note, Andrews married Jarret Stoll in 2017. They welcomed a son via surrogacy in July 2023. Her journey reflects both the triumphs and the complexities of a public life.
