It has three chapters and 46 verses. Many people believe Paul the Apostle wrote it. He sent it to a man named Titus. Titus helped lead the church on the island of Crete.

The letter tells church leaders about their duties. Some scholars have a different idea. They think an unknown writer made the letter after Paul died. They look at the style and words used. They think these show a newer time. This writer might be called "the Pastor." Some say Paul used a secretary to help him write. This was a common way to write letters back then. The letter also mentions a famous puzzle. It says a man from Crete once said that Cretans always lie. This is called the Epimenides paradox. This letter is a very important part of history.
