Many people believe in a special force. They say it is inside all things. This force helps life move. This idea is not the same as science. In science, energy is something we can measure. But in many faiths, this force is hard to measure.

Ancient groups had many names for it. The Egyptians called it ka. The Greeks spoke of pneuma, which means breath. In Japan, people call it ki. In China, it is known as qi. Many believe qi flows through paths in the body. They use tai chi to balance it.

Other traditions have different views. In India, some call it prana. They believe it moves through tiny paths called nadis. Some think it comes from the sun. In Tibetan Buddhism, people talk about lung. This is a wind-energy used in meditation.

Some people also believe in energy centers. These are often called chakras. They are spots where energy gathers. People use breath or songs to balance them. There is no scientific proof for these ideas. Still, many people find them helpful for their spirit.
